Web Link Interkriti
Interkriti is probably the oldest website relating to all aspects of life in Crete and most activity centres around its Forum. New users should check the archives before posting a question that may have been asked many times before. The Forum is unmoderated and some members are not very tolerant of such matters!
Web Link BritsInCrete
Gerald Brown's forumĀ site is popular with both residents and wannabe residents of Crete. It is moderated and is a good place to ask your questions.
Web Link Explore Crete
Although primarily aimed at the tourists, there are nevertheless some articles that would be useful to the resident too on Yiannis Samatas' Explore Crete site, e.g. the pages devoted to the various types of fish that can be caught in local waters. There is also a moderated Forum.
Web Link Living in Crete
Carol has lived on the western side of the island for twenty years and much of the information on her Living In Crete site is applicable to Crete as a whole. Why not take a look?
Web Link Greece is Home
Greece Is Home, whilst not specific to Crete, hosts a moderated Forum and contains much useful information.
Web Link Filoglossia
Filoglossia is another excellent aid to learning Greek, but again uses streaming audio and sound files that cannot be saved to your hard disk. You also need to have the Windows Media Player installed on your machine, as well as a connection faster than 56K dialup. You can, however, save the graphics (.gif) files that show you how to draw the Greek alphabet in Chapter 1. Just wait until each letter has finished downloading, right click on it, and select Save Picture As from the little menu!
Web Link Meet and Eat Guide
For a Gastronomic Guide to the island of Crete, including top restaurants & tavernas.
