INCO Committee

Sue CawoodPrior to my retirement and relocation to Crete nearly seven years ago, I was Commercial Director for one of the UK’s leading specialists in oil and lubricant manufacture. My responsibilities included the management of many special projects not only to ensure compliance with the rigorous standards applying to that industry but also to negotiate contracts and purchases, introduce new systems and working practices and make sure the company was profitable.

In my previous employment - I initially managed the purchasing, installation and SHEQ (Safety, Health, Efficiency & Quality) departments before being made General Manager and Board Member. My working life lasted for nearly 50 years so it is difficult to cover all my experience in just 250 words.

Over the years, I have also had the following voluntary roles:
Member of an employer’s Joint Consultative Committee
Membership Secretary of the Vincent Motorcycle Owner’s Club
Welcomer and latterly Link Member of a Nationwide social club for single people. As Welcomer, new members were given my phone number so we could chat and I would then meet them and introduce them to other members at our weekly meetings. As Link Member, I would organise events, liaise with neighbouring groups, write monthly newsletters etc.
Chairperson of my local Resident’s Association

I believe I have many skills which could be transferred were I to become a Committee Member for INCO and I am sure I would enjoy working closely with the other committee members in order to help ensure it’s continuance.
